ਇੱਕ ਚੰਦ
One evening, as the day grew calm, Nanak went walking with his friend Mardana. The sky slowly turned dark and quiet. They sat beside a small, still pond. Soon, the moon rose into the sky. Its soft light spread across the water. Mardana leaned forward and smiled. "Look," he said softly. "There are many moons." Nanak smiled. "It looks like many," he said, "but it is really just one."
As you rest, remember this: You belong. The same gentle light that shines in everyone, shines inside you too.
"These stories were written for my daughter first. Now they're for every Sikh child growing up between two worlds."
I wanted my daughter to fall asleep knowing who she is. Knowing the words. Knowing the stories. Growing up in the diaspora, that felt harder than it should be.
So I wrote them myself. Stories in English and Punjabi — in Gurmukhi, the way it's meant to be — simple enough for a sleepy four-year-old, deep enough to stay with them.
NaamNest is the first modern, bilingual, beautifully designed Sikh bedtime story brand for the Punjabi diaspora. And it started with one little girl, and one quiet moon.

Warm, calm, and quiet. These are bedtime stories. They speak to the heart, not the lecture hall.
